You know….., I’ve been thinking….. (That Steve fellow from the Adrian Bailey Jill Meagher thread started this off…. with how back to front and distorted matters have become)
………….It’s about the Election and all. And the Greens. And the Environment.
Please, may I please have a word in this regard.
The Greens want to abolish any interference with management of the environment.
No clearing, no tidy up, no nothing. Leave nature to nature.
Well this is an almighty brand new and revolutionary idea. The native aboriginal people of Australia understood better the significance of controlled burns.
Now witness the results of the political bulldozing of stupid and ignorant notions regarding leaving all just sit and do nothing.
OK, The results are as follows: And this is just one scenario:
A walloping great bush fire comes along and destroys everything in its path, both animal and plant. With no regards to race, creed, colour, creed, prejudice, species or life be it close to extinction, precious or otherwise. End of story. The dead cannot speak for themselves.
The Greenies continue to thrive and voice their political stuff (often with a cigarette in hand at the same time)
These terrible bush fires kill far more wildlife and age old trees, and life, than ever before.
And all because the Green Movement appears to have so much political stouch.
I believe there was a case in Victoria recently where a land owner cleared an area all around his house, He was taken to court for so doing. The bush fire came, and his house was only one left standing in the area. (I have yet to hear either an apology or even an acknowledgement that this land owner did the responsible thing.)
After that episode, the Queensland Labour Party chose to adopt the same route of taking to court property owners who cleared their own land, in order to make a living. They (the governing LP) appeared to want to resume land and still have the property owner pay rates. Thou shalt not touch this or that area, due to “protected species.”
Fines ensure. That seemed to be the motto.
When terrible Bushfires took out huge tracts of land, protected species and all, the governing LP body, shrugged and indicated that well “Shit happens”, And “wasn’t my fault.”
What I am getting at with my story, is this: Land ownership also means Land Stewardship. That needs to be responsible. The so called Green Movement in Australia is, IMO, a dangerous and ill informed bunch of ignorant people with huge political muscle. They are directly responsible by their own ignorance of the wanton destruction of much beautiful wildlife in Australia.
(As evidenced by the scenario outlined above.)
