Thanks for your in-depth reply Steve. I’m really sorry to hear about your post traumatic stress depression, what you’ve seen and experienced must play on your mind and would be hard to erase. I hope you are getting some help with it, if there is any out there.
The power and drugs and violence occurring in prisons, must make it hard to believe sometimes how different human beings can be, if you can call their behaviour human in some cases. It’s hard to get your head around. And as you say prisons are a training ground for criminals and gang mentality just to survive the system in there.
Like you Dan, I immediately thought of Gerard BC and wondered how is faring. Not well, I should imagine. I’m interested to know, Steve, if he is in protective custody (which we don’t know for a fact) would survival be any ‘easier’ in the prison system? Surely by sheer numbers, protected prisoners can’t be protected all the time and must interact with other inmates at times? Gerard BC has been inside for 17 months or so by now. I do also wonder whether some of daddy’s friends are pulling strings to help him along his journey inside, so to speak. Perhaps that’s not possible to protect an inmate from others, but with the corruption you speak of Steve I suppose it might be. I’m sure his ego must be somewhat dented nonetheless.
